IBPS is expected to release IBPS Clerk VIII notification by September. Last year IBPS clerk vacancy was 7000 + whereas this year IBPS clerk vacancy is expected to be more than or around 8000. The tentative dates of IBPS preliminary exam are 8th, 9th, 15th, and 16th December 2018 and Clerk-VIII Main exam on 20th January 2019. IBPS Clerk 2018 Exam pattern
Prelims and Mains are the two phases of IBPS Clerk 2018 exam. Reasoning, quantitative and English will be covered in prelims whereas in main Reasoning and computer aptitude, Quantitative aptitude, General English, General & Financial Awareness will be covered. 100 Objective Questions for 100 marks will be set in prelims. Within one hour time all the three sections shall be completed. 0.25 marks will be deducted as negative marking for every wrong answer. 190 questions will be asked for 200 marks for mains ibps clerk exam and the exam has to be completed within one hour 40 minutes.
In the year 2017, Computer and Reasoning ability sections were conducted separately. But this year, both the sections are combined together and will contain 50 questions that have to be solved within 45 minutes. Both the exams will be conducted bilingually i.e. both in English and Hindi. In both preliminary and main exams negative marking is applied. 1/4th of the mark is assigned as a negative marking. There is no penalty marking for the unanswered questions.

Age-based Eligibility: As per the official notification the candidate should be 20 and 28 years as on 1st September 2018.
Educational Qualification: The minimum qualification required for the post of the clerk is graduation from a recognized university.

- For the selection marks obtained in the prelims will not be considered.
- Candidates should qualify in the main for their final merit
- The score of 100 will be used for the final merit list against each category. The top finals will be selected from the merit list.
